Can You Remove Water Spots?

Water is an essential element for cleaning, revitalizing and maintaining general well being. It is also unfortunate that it can cause great pain due to some of its destructive properties. Rust and salt deposits of different compounds are some of the most common results when water comes in touch with compounds that decay under warm moist conditions. This can leave behind great mess that may require one to either remove water spots or get replacement. Water spots are generally caused when elements on the surface of an object bind together with water to form new compounds that can be recognized by the different color tone that they impose on the objects surface. Some of the various surfaces that they can manifest themselves on are objects such as plastics, stones, glass, fabric, metals, wood, leather, porcelain and fiberglass among others.

In nearly all bathrooms where people get to bath and even refresh using the toilet, it is not uncommon to regularly use elbow grease and cleaning agents to remove water spots and salt deposit. Most of them usually occur due to long term use with poor record of clean up maintenance. The glass, metal, marble, granite, plastic and glass surfaces normally continue to accumulate more deposits each time the surface is not properly dried after use. On a number of occasions surfaces with water sports usually have a whitish yellow, green and black look indicate their presence. The white and yellow colors generally indicate that the water spot has some deposit of salts that contain calcium and phosphate compound. Colors green and black on the other hand get caused by metal surface oxidation or mold plus other microbes build up most of the time.

In many cases it is recommended that the salt and other oxide deposit be removed by cleaning agents that can break down the deposits to washable bits without destroying the surface. Meanwhile appropriate disinfectants are also highly recommended to sanitize and remove water spots caused by the build up of moulds and microbes. One of the simplest natural cleaning agents that can sterilize and cleanup water spots is vinegar.
